Flag with arms

The municipality Isen has adopted a flag by the vote of the municipal council of May 31st 1983. The flag shows three stripes of the colours Red-Yellow-Red; it shall be used with the arms on it. The Government of Upper Bavaria approved the adoption of the flag on February 8th 1984.

In actual use are flags with and without arms. The flags have a size of 400 x 120 cm or 300 x 100 cm (proportions 10:3). However, there are also flags of other sizes in use; also the position and the design of the arms are not uniform (see fotos beneath). The flags have been manufactured by Kattan in Regensburg. They are used on official occasions since 1984. Due to extensive use some of the flags to be seen in Isen are already bleached; especially the yellow stripe is almost white.

Old inofficial flag without arms (before 1984)

Before 1984 flags of the colours Green-White were used inofficially. Where these colours derived from, remains unclear; the claim in a letter by the municipality Isen, that these colours had been suggested by Otto Hupp, seems improbable.
