Berglern Municipal Flag

Flag with arms

The municipality Berglern has adopted a flag by the vote of the municipal council of March 9th 1992. The flag shows three stripes of the colours Red-White-Green; it shall be used with the arms on it. The Government of Upper Bavaria approved the adoption of the flag on August 26th 1992.

In actual use are hanging flags with arms. There are at least three variants: Flags used by the municipality have proportions of 8:3, the arms covering 53% of the flag width. Citizens use longer flags in the proportions 10:3, the arms covering 2/3 or 3/4 of the flag width (see fotos beneath). The flags have been bought at Lansche Fahnen in Taufkirchen b. München. They are used on state and church holidays (e.g. Corpus Christi Day), on occasion of club jubilees and consecrations of club colours. During a festivity in July 1999 the whole Berglern was covered with flags. The flag is not hoisted in front of the common town hall of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft (municipal association) at Wartenberg, but only in Berglern.

The colours of the arms and the flag are also used by the municipality for mourning bands.
